When I played Divinity, I felt like I was sucked into a black hole of adventures, and I could feel the same pull on me when I launched Lost Ark (should I be concerned?). You’ll explore vast and beautifully rendered worlds filled with all sorts of creatures and challenges, and you’ll battle them with all the skill and strategy you can muster. There, that’s Lost Ark, a perfect copy.Ĭomparing it to Divinity: Original Sin 2, you’re gonna see that they’re both all about exploration and combat. With a top-down view that makes it feel like a classic arcade game, it still keeps all the depth and complexity of a modern RPG! If you’ve ever played Gauntlet, put that game on steroids and remove the weird gremlin voices. Lost Ark is an amazing game, and where it really shines is in its unique twist on the traditional action RPG formula. So, no matter where you like to do your gaming, you can experience the wonders of Skyrim today, right now, this very second (do it now).ĭivinity and Lost Ark both share a love for epic adventures and immersive gameplay. It’s available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and even Alexa (yes, really, kind of). In my experience, Skyrim shines best at empowering players to create their own unique adventure in the world of Tamriel, and that would be my number one reason to recommend it.Īnd if you’re wondering which platforms you can play Skyrim on, the answer is pretty much everything except your toaster (sorry, toast lovers). Want to be a stealthy archer who can pick locks and steal from unsuspecting townsfolk? Right on, sir! Want to be a sword-wielding badass who takes on dragons with ease? You can do that too. In terms of core gameplay, Skyrim is all about giving players the freedom to do whatever they want. They both have a similar focus on exploration, character customization, and immersive storytelling, but Skyrim takes things to the next level with its vast open world, dragons, and epic battles. In some ways, it’s like the cooler, older brother of the RPG world. It is so good, and it’s one of the best alternatives there could ever be in this genre. If you liked Divinity, there’s no way you haven’t played Skyrim. Sure, you could wait to play it later on a console, but why settle for that when you could be experiencing the game in all its glory on a high-end gaming rig today? If you wanna play the game today, you’ll have to join the PC master race, as early access is only available on Windows and Mac OS. Going deeper, you’re also going to find that there’s a deep customization system for your characters that’ll let you change everything, and I’m not just saying that. ![]() The game is still in early access, scheduled for release in August of 2023, but early access means you can go and play the 30-hour-long limited campaign right away! The gameplay is turn-based, and I personally really loved this because it brings the same strategic gameplay that we all loved in Divinity. And let’s not forget about the character creation systems – both games give players the ability to create some seriously badass heroes. They may look a bit different on the surface, but underneath it all, they have a lot in common – like a love of turn-based combat and a shared appreciation for a well-crafted RPG storyline. ![]() Larian Studios shot it out of the park with this one, as these two games are like two siblings separated at birth, reunited years later by a twist of fate (and a shared development team). ![]() We’re going to kick it off with Baldur’s Gate because, you guessed it, it’s from the same studio that developed Divinity: Original Sin 2.
